Water Baptisms at THE PLACE were AMAZING! (video)

Lives are being changed in Wickenburg Arizona. People are taking a stand for Jesus in a way that they never have before. We couldn’t be happier at THE PLACE to be part of the change that we are witnessing. The last three months have been amazing and we can’t wait to see what the future holds! Our only prayer is that we can continue to carry the love and grace that was experienced this past Sunday for our baptism service.

People traveled from all over Wickenburg (and even from New Mexico) to support the seven people who took a stand for Jesus through water baptism. They came to offer their love, prayers and support. Those who took the stand in water baptism were…

Mary Alice
John
Reyna
James
Sam
Savannah
&
Jessie

God has been moving in their hearts in a great way and we were honored to be part of this experience with them. We’d like to share this experience with you. Take a minute and watch what God is doing in their lives, THE PLACE and the community of Wickenburg.

If you are interested in being water baptized, please contact Pastor Greg Hintz at 928-671-0342. We baptize quarterly and would love to have you be part of our fall baptisms!

Have a great day!

Water Baptisms Last Night!

Someone looked at me last night and said, “It doesn’t matter that we don’t have a building yet, we are the church.” Those words rang deep into my soul. Being a church plant, you can get caught up with details and slogans and locations and miss the main ingredient of a healthy church ~ people. I declare before the world today… we will not overlook His people.

Jesus died to give hope and life to people ~ people like you and me. He wants that message to go forth and He wants people to begin a relationship with Him. That relationship begins with a heart that is open for him and continues to grow for the rest of their lives. One beautiful step on the road with Christ is the gift of baptism. This wonderful sacrament was shared with our church last night.

We met around 7:30pm at one of our member’s homes. She was ready for us and we gathered together with a spirit of expectation and gittiness that could only come from the Holy Spirit. We spent some time in prayer ~ thanking God and petitioning for His will to be done in our lives and in that evening.

We opened up our Bibles to Acts chapter 8 and looked at the actions of Phillip and the Ethiopian eunuch. We shared about baptism and life and Jesus. It was a wonderful time of sharing. And then, we ventured to the baptismal (aka – hot tub).

The first member to be baptized was Dylan. He is ten years old and has been serving the Lord for a few years. He has a sensitive heart and a desire to know God more. He understands life and faith and spirituality and longs to serve Jesus with His life. (And, he happens to be my son! How awesome that the first person that I was able to baptize for The Place was my very own son!)

Next, was Tray. Tray is in sixth grade and has an insatiable hunger to know God more. Attending a Christian school has helped to solidify the relationship that he has with God as he’s been able to develop his understanding of God and love for His Word.

Following Tray, was his mom ~ Monique. Monique is a woman who is ON FIRE for God with a passion to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus. Once a successful Harley model, she has seen many different things in life and has dedicated herself to following Christ. She say, “I just want to be a soul seeker. I want to reach people for Jesus!” Her baptism was a great step on that journey.

Finally, Joe was our last baptism of the night. Joe has a strong desire to know God in these last few days of his life. He was recently given two weeks to live by the doctors. Even though he committed his life to Jesus some time ago, he knew that he needed to be baptized and share in this experience with his Godson ~ Tray. Joe is a mighty man of God as he looks clearly in the future and is at peace with God, his surrounding and himself.

I am reminded about the goodness of God and the plans of God and the interweaving of lives together through His grace and love. It was honor for me to do these baptisms and to partake in such a special time in the life of the church. It was great to watch each of these individuals make a decision to follow Christ for the rest of their lives.

After I came home, I remember looking at my wife and saying, “Is there any question now that this is the right thing to do?” She looked back at me and said, “Absolutely not.”
